The Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity program prepares students to obtain knowledge for careers in cybersecurity and assurance. The cybersecurity program consists of topical areas dealing with cybersecurity management, incident response, and security threat assessment, which requires students to be creators of knowledge and inventors of processes, not merely users of information. Additionally, students will receive instruction in leadership and management in preparation for becoming managers and directors. Through a dynamic and varied mix of instructional methods and evaluation, students will be challenged in both theoretical and practical areas. Exceptional emphasis is placed on developing student’s presentation skills to enhance their value in the workplace.
This degree program is three (3) years, which includes the spring, summer and fall semesters for full time student. Students will profit from our successful optional Industrial Placement summer scheme after the second year, before choosing his/her domain of specialty in the final year. The first two years of the program culminates with a summer internship where students may apply skills learned in their coursework. During the third year of the program, students will choose a specific domain of expertise with the goal of becoming a domain expert. A total of at least 96 credit hours selected from the list of core and required courses are needed prior to graduation. Students will have to carry out a research project in their fields of specialty as one of the requirements for graduation.
