The Bachelor of arts in English and French will guide you in your study of English, you’ll find out how the language works and how it varies depending on the context. You’ll also explore its history, its politics, and how it came to be such a hugely influential global language. Your French studies will cover a range of aspects relating to the language and its cultures around the world. On completion, you’ll be an independent and intercultural user of French, have a wide-ranging understanding of how the English language is used to influence, and persuade.
This degree program is three (3) years, which includes the spring, summer and fall semesters for full time student. However, part-time students will be allowed to complete the program in a time not more than six years. Students WILL NOT BE ALLOWED in any bachelor’s program after SIX years of study.
Students will profit from our successful optional Industrial Placement summer scheme after the second year, before choosing his/her domain of specialty in the final year.
The first two years of the program culminates with a summer internship where students may apply skills learned in their coursework. During the third year of the program, students will choose a specific domain of expertise with the goal of becoming a domain expert. A total of at least 96 credit hours selected from the list of core and required courses are needed prior to graduation. Students will have to carry out a research project in their fields of specialty as one of the requirements for graduation.
